We are a non-profit that is Helping God's Kids get done what needs to be done

My wife Betsy and I have always been active in helping God’s Kids. In 2011 I decided that I was not going to go to the next pant size. I also made a goal of returning to a size 32” waist that I was when I left school. This meant that I needed to lose 50 pounds. I decided that to do this I would need to add fresh fruits and vegetables to my diet.

I started to go every Saturday to the Allentown Farmers Market. Over the next year I attained my goal. During that year the thought came to me that the poorer inner-city kids did not have the opportunity to even taste fresh fruits and vegetables. At the time I had a friend who was teaching in the Philadelphia school system. We started to give him enough fresh fruit to give his students a snack every morning and afternoon for several years. He left that job and we needed to find another group of students to introduce to fresh fruits and vegetables.

I found the Resurrected Life Children’s Academy. They feed their kid’s balanced meals, but most of the fruits and vegetables came out of cans. We started to give them fresh fruits and vegetables. The kid’s loved the change.

We give fresh fruits and vegetables to individual families also. There are community projects that we also support like youth sports. We donate bottled water that they sell at their refreshment stands. We continue to expand with our help to God’s Kids.

Friends of mine started to give us money to support the work we were doing. I told them that we could not give a tax deductible receipt. They said a receipt would be nice, but the work we were doing was more important. For a couple of years they supported our work without the benefits of giving to a 501-c3 Non-Profit. “The Holencik Foundation” became a 501-c3 Non-Profit in 2015. To continue to expand in helping God’s Kids get done what needs to be done, we need help from people like you.
